Wu Xie is a naive young antique merchant. Although his grandfather used to be tomb robber, his ultimate goal is preventing national artifacts being sold to greedy people. Thus, Wu Xie travels across the country to gather the antiques and turn them to the government.
It's a very dangerous journey since the beginning. They have to deal with corpse eater insects, various ancient trap and sadistic mercenary. The more they walk into the tomb, the more stories revealed. At the same time, more questions arise.
The idea, although nothing new, is actually quite intriguing. I picture The Mummy and Tomb Raiders in my head when reading wiki's review. However, it's not beautifully told. There are so many jumping scenes, forcing the audience to relate them to ourselves. It doesn't seem to try to please us, instead making us work harder to understand it.
There's also the lack of characterization as the drama mainly focus on Wu Xie's personality. Everybody keeps telling him, "Wu Xie, you're so naive". I think they don't need to mention it over and over, right? We can get it from the actions he takes.
There are other casts waiting to be explored. But, no, the director decides to put all spotlight to Wu Xie.
Seriously, I tried to stop watching since the first episode. But, how can I do it when he looks like this???
