Due to his childhood trauma, detective Tan Bodun suffers from dissociative identity disorder. He must hold an alter ego inside him from taking over. This other him is actually a better detective, but he’s cruel and would do anything to crack cases. Bodun worries he would do harm to everyone around him, especially his fiancee, Luo Jia Zhen.
On 1911, the rebels want to take over legitimate government. One night, General Gao is murdered and Tan Bodun tries to catch the killer. When Bodun accidentally meets Song Chengmin on their way to Fuyuan County, he suspects the man as the killer. But, Chengmin looks so clean and reliable.
In Fuyuan County, a butler of Song Family fell from the pagoda built by Chengmin’s second brother. While investigating the butler’s death, Bodun stumbles upon various cases all related to The Song Family. It brings him to the tragedy 20 years ago where a group of delivery arm squad was robbed and all the crew were beheaded.
Gao Zi Ting is not my kind of handsome, but he has such a cute smile. He can switch face from nice Tan Bodun to evil Tan Bodun smoothly. The kid got potency.
I’ve seen Zhang Xin in Arsenal Military Academy and In A Class of Her Own. I think she’s good as support cast, not really sure about her charisma as main heroine. It’s not that she’s not pretty, it’s just something’s off. But, she does have good make up here.
Qu Gao Wei is one of hot middle age actor I fall in love with. Wether he’s playing protagonist or antagonist, he keeps catching my attention. He was in Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy; Nirvana in Fire 2: The Wind blows in Changling; and The Longest Day in Chang’an.
The split personality is really what keeps me watching, because this series is dry. It lacks of humor. I just want to know how he deals with his mental disorder because as far as I know this is incurable disease. It’s just like diabetes, you can’t get rid of it. You can only control it.
