5 years ago Sakura Nanase found old woman collapsed on the street. Luckily, a doctor named Tendo Kairi passed by and save the patient. Sakura falls in love with his tenderness in instant. She decides to pursue career as nurse, so she can meet him. After 5 years, Sakura finally starts her training at the same hospital as Tendo’s. She can’t help but confessing to him, only to be scolded harshly. What? Is this really the Tendo sensei she knew?
Apparently he possesses special nickname in the hospital: Maou (demon). He’s very sweet toward patients, but doesn't even try to make nice conversation with his colleagues. He causes the increasing number of nurse asking for transfer to another department.
This is basically Itazura no Kiss in work setting. The male is so superior that he can look down on the girl. I’m no fan of stupid girl, nor arrogant male melted for the girl. I think Itakisu is an insult to woman.
We’re living in era where women work as hard as men, but still regarded low because of the gender. It’s not always because of the men, but also the female mentality. Like when Sakura decides to be nurse. Why does she have to aim low? If this is about a boy witnessing doctor saving patient, he would aim to be doctor.
Is it normal to scold people “stupid” in work place? If it’s in my office, i would’ve slap back. It’s rude and immature. Workplace is supposed to be a place for adult, who can find neutral word to express their feeling. Moreover, scolding people stupid instead of calling the wrongdoing (like, “don’t be too slow” or “beware of the injection”) is indication of bad communication. It’s 2020 and we’re still using this phrases?
On the other hand, capable girl is portrayed as cold person. Is it so hard to appreciate capable person without picking her personality? It’s really too hard.
About the medical story anyway. The helping thing usually focus on touching audience’s heart. I often cry watching medical drama (you name it: iryu, doctor x, doctors...), but not for this drama. The first episode gives too much focus of Sakura’s lack competency. It doesn’t cover much the patient’s story.
I have mixed feeling about this dorama. I like the cast and it’s been long since I watch Take chan’s work. On the other hand, weak and stupid female character is not my thing. Well, let’s see how the second episode progressing....
