Red-haired high schooler, Kurosaki Ichigo has the ability to see a ghost. When he was little, he couldn't differentiate the spirit from human and mistakenly approach hollow called Grand Fisher. Hollow is spirit going berserk who feed on high spirited power human, like Ichigo. His mother died protecting him and Ichigo still feeling guilty about it.
Years after that, a soul reaper named Kuchiki Rukia passes Ichigo's house to catch hollow. But, she's not strong enough to take down the monster. Rukia transfers her power to Ichigo, enabling him to become a soul reaper.
As result, Rukia can't return to Soul Society as losing your power to human is considered a sin. Captain Kuchiki and his vice-captain, Abarai Renji are already pursuing her. Ichigo tries to defend Rukia in front of the high leveled soul reapers. They end up making bet: if Ichigo can defeat Grand Fisher, they'll let Rukia go. This is getting personal as Ichigo learns that the monster is the same one who caused her mother's life.
I was a bit underestimating this movie when they announce Sota would play Ichigo. Sigh. He's great visual as our red-haired hero, but he can't get the line well into my heart. Whenever I hear him speak, he doesn't sound charismatic. Still, they cast lots of better actors to pull the story. Eguchi Yosuke, is much more charming than Ichigo's papa in the manga. He's paired with beautiful Nagasawa Masaki, which add to my liking.

Sugisaki Hana is not the prettiest actress but she's well trained and fit the image of Kuchiki Rukia in my imagination. The way she swung her zanpakuto reminds me of her last amazing movie, Blade of The Immortal. She's riding good path to become a better actress.
It's great that they only capture the beginning of the story. I think the first arc of the anime is the most interesting part (because Tite Kubo kept recycling the similar plot with different opponents.) The real story is in the beginning! They also put a focus on the action scenes. The scenes are sets of beautiful fights decorated all over the movie.
