After her mother passed away, Tomita Tamako finally relieved from strict table tennis practice. She no longer had to fulfill the late mother wished to be a champion and can lead an ordinary life. However, she has a crush on table tennis athlete in her company. She pretends to know nothing about the sport, until one day the boyfriend dumped her for another athlete.

Feeling crushed and broken heart, Tamako quits her job and returns to her hometown. He friend drags her to join the table tennis club her mother used to run. She gets to be paired to a loser father, Hagiwara Hisashi. They stand to challenge Tamako's ex-boyfriend a tournament. They manage to cooperate and even regain their confidence.
