A new Anthrax virus is stolen from a private laboratory by a former researcher. He demanded 300 million yen as ransom. If he didn’t get the money, he’d release the virus and lots of people would die. Unfortunately, he was caught in an accident before the transaction. The virus is buried somewhere in the largest ski resort.
Fellow researcher, Kuribayashi, is assigned to retrieve the virus before it outbreaks and harms people. His only clue is the teddy bear pictured left in the snow wood. The problem is not only that. It’s been years since Kuribayashi skied and he’s prone to injury. But, since his boss told him to keep a low profile in order to prevent panic, he can’t openly ask others for help.
Abe Hiroshi is perfect when playing clumsy man. His role here reminds me him playing Kekkon Dekinai Otoko. Imagine that awkward guy...with the son. Yeah, there’s only trouble ahead. He wants to look cool in front of his son, he can’t talk to him about his problem. On the other side, the teenager son is experiencing a rebellious phase where he needs to be taken seriously, not as a child but as a family member. Kuribayashi’s act to pretend strong only makes it worse.
Tachon and Yuko are a cute pair, although they don't end together in the movie (which is most likely the curse of Japanese writers. they don't like seeing me happy. they hate making cute people a couple on screen. huh). Tachon looks grown up and I love how Yuko plays a trick on him.
