Ayase Chihaya has been obsessed with karuta since she was introduced to the game by the meijin's grandson, Wataya Arata. He was a transfer student in Chihaya and Taichi's elementary school for only a year. 

Even after years, Chihaya still dreams of going to karuta's tournament. However, the Mizusawa High School where she just enrolled doesn't have karuta club. Chihaya needs 4 other members to establish a new club and to be eligible to enter karuta's competition.

First, she drags Taichi. The childhood friend has been in love with her for years. So, even though he looks reluctant, he's willing to join the club. The next member is a strong player, Nishida who doesn't want to forget his passion about Karuta. They ask the daughter of kimono shop, Oe and invites the only student who has not join any club yet, Komano.

Damn, this movie is so beautiful. Some scenes are not in the anime, but they manage to build a solid story. I cried watching the anime and I'm already crying for the first 15 minutes.

The story is patched right. It's easy to understand even for people who has never watch the anime. The casts are perfect, too. They are rising stars with good talent. You'll be sorry to miss this!
