The Door Lock

Fang Hui lives alone. One day she realizes someone has been inside her apartment. She found multiple tying to open her door lock, a paper towel looks like being used, and someone peeping through the window. What she doesn't know is that there's a pervert hiding under her bed and putting her unconscious through the night.

It's tempting to watch this movie as someone living alone. But on the other side, it's really creepy. How can someone be surrounded by so many perverts? And how do these men so disgusting? Can't they just court her instead? I mean, she's not a princess and she's single, so you have plenty of chance to win her heart. This movie notices that men who abuse women are lack confidence. Their inferiority stands in the way to act like a gentleman. Sad. As the number of violence against women keeps rising, perhaps we need careful calculation on how many men feel so insignificant? Do we raise them wrong?

Anyway, there are things I notice single people should do when these happen:

fingerprints on your door lock - change the key, add more key √

things moving inside the house - put camera on, find proof before going to police √

someone following you - buy a stungun √

The number of people living alone has increased, especially in rich countries. In the US, the share of adults who live alone nearly doubled over the last 50 years. This is not only happening in the US: single-person households have become increasingly common in many countries across the world, from Angola to Japan. Rich countries often have more extensive social support networks, so people in these countries find it easier to take risks. Living alone is more risky in poorer countries, because there’s often less supply of services and infrastructure to support more solitary living arrangements.

In the book, Going Solo, Eric Klinenberg discovers today's sophisticated life has given opportunities to single people to live alone, including its housing convenience. Of course, single people are not limited to young girls without a partner, it also covers widows/ers or the elderly.  I know people often limited the word single with young people who're never married, thus connotating it with loneliness or pitifulness. Sorry to say the stigma is barely true anymore. Living alone is a choice for everyone.

Last, let's talk about the cast. I think Bai Bai He is fine playing this victim. It feels so satisfying when she fought back at the end of the story.

To my surprise, Fang Cheng Cheng is here and he's also creepy. Wouldn't it be nice if he could be the hero, instead of the cop? I compare him with security guards in my housing complex. He's cuter and they should give him more important scenes. I think this movie has too many casts and they could just pull it all in one or two characters.  hahaha...ignore me, but this could be fanfic.
