Guo Jing's father was killed before he was born. Yang Kang is the son of Guo Jing's father sworn brother who's taught by the taoist.

Guo Jing accidentally learns the powerful 9-Yin manual and gets his hand of Wumu legacy, the war strategic book left by legendary Song general. He uses his skill to defend his country from Jin Empire.
Look. I never planned to watch this, but a senior mentioned about condor heroes few weeks ago and I found the series on youtube.
What I like about this series is the Guo Jing and Huang Rong pair. Most drama wants alpha male: meaning he must be handsome, rich, and smart. But, Guo Jing is a bit slow, but it makes him humble and generous. He never thought other people lower than himself, even though he's the no.1 martial art practitioner. He's blessed by smart Huang Rong who whispers him ideas, making people helping him, yet love him sincerely. That sounds like a harmonious relationship for me. When a man doesn't think he's better than his wife, that's where respect arises. Also, witty wife is the greatest thing that could happen to a man. She can light his way, keeps him in good shape, avoid him trouble. It's so nice watching this pair.
