After being rejected to enter the police academy, Qin Feng comes to Bangkok for vacation. He lives with his uncle, Tang Ren, who claimed to be the best detective in Chinatown. The truth is he's just a loser who spends all day playing mahjong and peeking the beautiful landlady. To make it worse, he's accused to kill a gangster named Sompat and stole his gold. Now, he's hunted by not only the police but also Sompat's partners who want the gold.
Qin Feng helps Tang Ren to follow the trails to clear his uncle name. Lucky he's not only a detective story nerd but also possesses a photographic memory.
The story focuses on two people from different generations facing the problems. Tang Ren loves to boast just to hide his lame conditions. The more he talks, the lower he feels inside. Once a problem hits, it's easy to be down and losing hope. On the other hand, younger Qin Feng has more thinking flexibility. Yeah, he's smart after all. But, he does know how to use resources to reach his goal. While Tang Ren makes use of his muscle, Qin Feng utilizes the technology. They make a great team.
The mystery is interesting and the detectives follow the clues in right order. They make it easy for the audience to experience the findings together. You got fresh actions, stupid policemen who keep fighting for credits, pretty lady, and the mafia. It's a complete set. However, don't you think 2 hours length is too long for such comedic act?
The ending tips that there will be a sequel to this movie, coming on 2018. And it will be located in New York with Tsumabuki Satoshi as co-star! I can hardly wait.
