Sato Tomoko has been fired again. For a 40 years old wife without high school certificate, it's not easy to find decent work. But, one day, she learns that one has 80% probability to be city council, which is bigger chance than finding a salaryman job. So, she decides to join the election.

As a newbie, Tomoko finds it hard to 'sell' herself. Lucky, she's supported by the mothers of her son's friends. To their surprise, Tomoko manages enough vote to be city counselor. But, what does a counselor do anyway? There are so many things to learn and so many promises to fulfill. Tomoko wants to bring happiness to everyone so she won't turn away from those being bullied, even though she would have to despise the powerful politician.
Most of the politician share similar backgrounds: rich, stable, and have connections. Tomoko doesn't have any of them. That's why she's underestimated. But, for people who are sick with this monopoly power play (where only several people can grab), she's a hope.

The city counselor should work to make a better place for the citizen. But, most of the politician only care about cases that benefit them. They desire to look good but doesn't want to get their hands dirty. I know, scums.

The fact is there are so many issues politician can solve with their voices. For example, the gender discriminations. Women are always easier to be intimidated. One of the mothers is demoted as soon as she gave birth because the supervisor thought she wouldn't be as productive as before. That's actually a softer act. Some others even pushed to quit their jobs after having babies.

Or bullying, the never-ending nightmare. It's a world-wide problem, discussed by any level of people, yet it never stops.
Gosh, this series hits me. It's so close to reality and I keep nodding watching those politicians.  I also like the issues taken to light. But, will those actions taken by Tomoko can be applied in real life? I don't know.
