The four infamous deputies are investigating mysterious official homicides when they're interrupted by the case of running away Lady in Waiting. Some beautiful girls are sent to the palace for the emperor, but they escape on the way. The four deputies are assigned to catch them.
Zhuge Sheng Hou, the director of Divine Constabulary recognizes her as the descendant of his old friend and lets her discover her talent in mind reading. This new skill allows Chu Li Mo to surpress Coldblood's wolf poison. Although Coldblood is always rude and ignorant to her, he begins to acknowledge her.
At the same time, various crimes range in the capital, lead by emperor's brother, Lord An Shi Geng. This crazy lord hold grudge to the king for taking his girlfriend. He spend years cultivating his evil plans and ready to take over the crown. His power is enormous, but his ability to use people is also unbeatable. Can the four deputies stop this wicked guy?
Oh, I watched the trilogy movies and they were PRETTY COOL. The drama shares similar plot, with TOO MUCH romance here and there. And I don't like it. But, this is the big different from the movie. While the movie empasizes on the case, the drama goes over romantized story.
Of course I like Coldblood (Zhang Han) being tsundere over Chu Li Mo. He's so handsome and cute when he being mad while actually never meant to do it. However, as soon as they discover their feeling toward each other, things turn cheesy. There are more tears than cool act. Mr. Coldblood becomes Mr. Cheerful which is not so beautiful. hahaha.
Not only Coldblood, each deputy had their own love story. Chaser (William Chan) got to fall in love with princess Zi Luo who always longing to be with Coldblood. He's what we call loyal lover. I personally like his happy character. He's a mood maker. And it's understandable when he finally gets tired from chasing the princess.
Iron Hand (Mao Zi Jun) had a simple love story. He falls for the girl who keeps pestering him. That could be a lesson for fangirl! lol
On the other side, Heartless (Yang Yang) had it hard. After losing girlfriend years ago, he couldn't move on. He's nice to people but keeps sad memories inside. When he finally opens his heart to the new girl, the girl was shot by An Shi Geng. He's the only one end up alone in this story. Poor baby.
Overall, this drama is not amusing. I picked this for Zhang Han, tho. I spend 2 weeks finishing it with a lot of fast forward because I don't like many scenes, such as the girls gossiping the four deputies or when they plot evil plan to humiliate Chu Li Mo. It feels like high school drama. So tired.
Not to mention lame effect when they fight. It feels so cheap.
Sorry, Han Han, I don't like the way they present the story. It's a shame because this story is based on a popular novel by Woon Swee Oan. It has been adapted several times. The first TV Drama (2008) even received few awards. But, why this latest installment fail me? Why????
