MARE

| Aired: 2015
| Episode: 150
| Cast: Tsuchiya Tao | Yamazaki Kento

Mare was only 10 when her family flew from Tokyo to small village in Noto Peninsula. Her father is a man of big dream and mouth, which never succeed leading any job. They were so broke!
To start a life in a small village is a challenge for city people. They know nobody and have no money. But, Mare is enthusiastic girl. She begins to learn the local dialect and get along with the neighborhood. Due to her persistence and positivity, the family starts getting place among the villagers.
However, Mare is not like any other kids. Traumatized by her father boastful history, she becomes a girl who doesn’t dream. She hates to put hope into non-predictive roads. Thus, she aims to be civil servant, which has stable income. Even so, she always motivates her friends around her to pursue their dreams.

Ah, first of everything, I love the soundtrack. The opening song which is called Mare-zora, gives me positive feeling. The melody is nice and easy to catch. Furthermore, it’s sung by a choir, which makes it more elegant.

I didn’t like Tao when I saw her in Suzuki Sensei. But, she gradually gets better and better roles, and finally I really love her performance in Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno. She’s so full of energy, just like Mare. I also love her voice: strong but still sweet. She talks normally.

Yamazaki Kento plays Mare’s childhood friend. People must be expecting their relationship to grow deeper as he confesses to Mare in second week. I personally think they look good together. Kento is an expert of giving look that makes your heart pounds and Tao can gives such a face of i-know-you-are-looking-but-i-pretend-to-not-care.
