Journalist Fujii receives a letter from death sentenced criminal, Sudo Junji. He wants to publish his story in Fujii's magazine in order to lure his boss, the guy called "Sensei". Sudo can't take him as the only one suffered while Sensei lives peacefully out of reach.
Fujii starts his investigation. Even though his boss refuses to publish the article, he keeps pursuing the truth. While obsessed on his work, his family begins to crack. His wife is no longer in patience to take care of Fujii's senile mother. On the other hand, Fujii refuses to cooperate fixing the family life using his work as excuse.

Funny this movie is in the same theme with Shirayuki Hime Satsujin Jiken, but it's in different light. Probably because of the cast, the gloomy lighting, the slow paced story? More like the mixture of those. I know none except for Yamada Takayuki and he looks dark.

But, this movie clearly reminds us that your personal happiness affect your work life. None can be so excited about his/her job if he/she doesn't do well at home. Home is sanctuary, work is an escape route if your home is like in hell, right? Fujii family is a proof that marriage can drawn you, suck your life energy. So sad.
