Seibei is a low rank samurai who works to keep food supply for winter. He lives decent life without a wife while continues raising his two kids. He also needs to take care his senile mother. Not to mention his low wage barely made it so he has to take some part time jobs at night. Burden with these, Seibei continues encouraging his two daughters to pursue higher education.
People call him “Twighlight Seibei” for rarely hanging out with other samurais. He has no ambition and hardly takes good care of himself. But, his family mostly loves him. Even Seibei’s childhood friend whom to be said the most beautiful girl in the city falls in love with him.
It's still the most beautiful movie I ever seen. It’s very deep and sweet. It tells us that people may vary in seeing happiness. Seibei may be dull, but he got true love with him. He may not be rich, but he’s surrounded by precious things.
