Matsukichi was born as samurai. But, his father was killed 4 years ago when he was 10. A merchant took him in as exchange for gin 2 kan. The money was supposed to be donated to rebuild Tenjin Shrine, though. Thus, the kid's life as merchant's apprentice begins.
This dorama shows how a samurai styled kid learn the life as merchant. Matsukichi was raised to have arrogant posture and way of talk, yet he's forced to turn humble. Isn't it a bit amusing?
Kento looks cute portraying 14 years old boy. haha. And he fits playing with Ashida Mana. Well, this is NHK production, you won't be disappointed.
