Makabe Yukiko is an SIT negotiator. However, her supervisor doesn't like her way of handling case, so she's transferred to new unite, "Emergency Interrogation Departement". It's a special unit consists of highly skilled interrogators assigned to unveil truth from difficult suspects. This is totally different from her previous job's situation where she makes use of the mood in the crime scene. Here, she must connect the detectives' investigation to get real information and create the mood herself.
When I was in college, they gave me an assignment consists of few answer sheets of psychological testing. Without ever meet the client, I was asked to compose a psychological report. This dorama resembles my task. Trying to gather pieces of information without even being in the crime scene is not easy. One can be biased. There are things you can't imagine just by looking at some reports.
