Wen Xi refuses. Woman can never be official afterall. Feng Cheng Jun tries everything and eventually tricks her to enter. Wen Xi now needs to be more careful with her disguise since she’s living in male dorminatory. She goes by the name of her little brother, Wen Bin. Although it’s dangerous, but studying makes her very happy. She’s eager to learn medicine in hoping she can find cure for her sick brother.
While Yun Shang Academy is respectable institution, it’s where the segregation of status become obvious. Those who come from prominent families are respected, such young master Han who become the president of student council. This president acts like little king in the school. On the other side, the poor and illegitimate children are the second class citizens. They have to respect those noble blood blindly.
Wen Bin, Feng Cheng Jun, also their two seniors Lei Ze Xin and Yu Le Xuan slowly change the climate of the school. They believe education is everybody’s right (including women) and that none is much more important than other.
We’re not going to talk about how Ju Jingyi can’t disguise because she’s so cute and petit. It’s obvious. So, we’re just going to pretend men in the ancient age are just blind because they lack experience in contact with women. Hahahha
I’d like to point how this series has potency to bring up the discrimination issue where women can’t go to school. Yet, they’re driven to be pretty and have good sense of art to catch husband. Because that’s the only way they can survive. They can’t study, they can’t go to work (unless they’re maid). Probably this is where the idioms about how pretty face and intelligence could not coexist in women.
