New Smiling Proud Wanderer

The first disciple of Mount Hua, Linghu Chong is accused of massacre Lin Family. The family’s invicible sword play called Evil-Resistance Sword has been eyed by everyone in jianghu. The only survivor, Lin PingZhi seeks asylum to Mount Hua’s master, Yue Bu Qun, and eventually becomes his son-in-law. Lin PingZhi believes Linghu Chong swept his family and stole the family sword skill. 

Linghu Chong travels to search for the way to clear his name. He meets various people both from justice and injustice side. He meets Dongfang Bubai, the young master of evil sect. They both share ideals of having a world of peace without hypocrites. 

It seems like this story has been remade for times to times. The idea is just like many wuxia story: people fight for the ultimate skill so they can rule the world. Also the hero falls in love with heroine but she’s from the bad side (not because she’s villain, just happen to have villainous family)...summary a romeo and juliet tale. So, basically it's similar to And the Winner is Love or Love a Lifetime (which I'm currently watching as well).

But, I finished New Smiling Proud Wanderer in 4 days. Meaning, it's quite amusing. 

I love that Linghu Chong is not so handsome, but a lot of ladies fall for him. It’s really not about his appearance, but his pure heart. Imagine if Xiao Zhan plays the part....must be a disaster.

I love that Dongfang Bubai is so hot. At the beginning I can’t believe he’s the bad guy. He’s just happen to be raised by the evil Ren Wo Xing. He’s charismatic, charming, and soft. It’s hard for me to accept that only Lan Feng Huang pursues him. How about me?

I love that Yue Ling Shan and Lin PingZhi are similar minds. They must be the most stupid characters in this story: easily to be provoked, short thinker, and insecure. Their biggest mistake is unable to trust Linghu Chong. They are meant for each other.

I love that Lan Feng Huang is so brave. She’s brave to love, to hate, to take action. She’s a mature character we call all look up for. She’s the strongest mental, unlike the other female characters which are described as submissive to their men. Actually every female characters are good people and have clear mind, but most of them fail to “control” their men. What a shame.

Sect leader

Man is a lost creature. Those who wants to practice Evil-Resisting Sword play must castrated themselves. It’s so stupid for me that they’re willing to be queer in order to reach that potential. It’s also a good message that being man is not enough to conquer the world. 

I know I’m late for the party, but I didn’t hear any crowds talking about this drama in 2018. It must because the casts are newbies. Also the lack of bromance. Lol. But, can you imagine having bromance at one point, this drama strictly distinguished straight relationship, but on the other hand they make the masters become sissy.
