After 18 years raised in small village, the illegitimate kid of Fan Jian, The Assistant Minister of Ministry of Revenue, is called to the capital. Fan Xian, his name, is a bright young man who's designed to take over the imperial company, Neiku. Many people feel threatened by his coming, thus he faces several murder attempts as well as persuasion to join throne factions.

While Fan Xian tries to be impartial, his biggest focus now is how to deal with the marriage that has been arranged by the emperor. He's supposed to marry Lin Wan'er, the illegitimate kid of Grand Princess. Grand Princess is the one managing Neiku for all these years and she will have to hand the company to Lin Wan'er's husband.

The problem is Fan Xian dislikes that other people making a decision for him as he already falls in love with the drumstick lady he met in a temple. He needs to break the engagement so he can pursue the girl of his dream. Little he knows that the drumstick lady is Lin Wan'er herself.

Most people are eager to watch because Xiao Zhan will play along. He's the hot potato now, but I must warn you: he will only appear from episode 38. Can you handle it?

But, if you're here for a quality watch, this is the one. It caught me since the first episode. Every cast is on point and each has interesting issues. 

I only watched Zhang Ruo Yun in Medical Examiner Dr. Qin, and I must admit he's not my kind of ikemen. But, he's truly a good actor. He makes all amazing the expressions as Fan Xian.

Uncle Wu Zhu is another fascinating character. He's poker face with the innocence of a kid, yet lack of curiosity for life. 

Wang Qinian is an ordinary type of civil servant. All he can think about is money to bring home, to his tigress wife. Even with a lot of talent, he chooses to be a clerk because it's safe. XD

The second prince got his bibliophilism from his mother, Consort Shu. Always compete with The Crown Prince, but I don't see any merits from both of them. All they do is making gossip, also enjoying their hobbies: one is reading, the other is painting.

Fan XiZhe is Fan Xian's little brother who might hit off with Wang Qinian. He is crazy for money and always has ideas to make more money, even though he's not lacking any pennies. 

I haven't got to Xiao Zhan's part but I've seen some scenes. He's beautiful and he's a backstabber. Yeah, that's it. That's the spoiler.
