Bei Erduo and Ye Shuwei pretend to be a couple to join a variety show. Erduo dreams to take voice acting lesson in Japan and she needs enough money to fund her education. While Shuwei just got back from Italy to runs a violin workshop. However, netizens are crazily curious: they are not easily believed that the two are dating. To fool the audience, Erduo moves into Shuwei's house and they start living together. Although the guy is very cold at first, they become comfortable with each other. They start to develop romantic feeling.
The show is a slow paced one without anything extreme stands on their way. It seems like every problem is just a ripple, making it very natural. We don't usually have an extraordinary problem in our daily life, right? It's weird for a drama for being this flat. They did try to add some spices like when Shuwei was accused to molest a fangirl or when Erduo's mother got scammed for her pension money. But, they never put follow up on those cases and they are dropped so easily on next episodes.
This drama also follows Korean style where the guy is super perfect. Shuwei is good at many things: playing and making a violin, archery, even composing. He is also super rich, driving a fancy car and lives in a big villa. His fault lies in his arrogant personality. He doesn't have a lot of friends because he doesn't care about other people. This is a typical alpha male in a lot of idol drama. It sucks and the acting makes it worse. Riley Wang stucks in the pms-looking face all the time. A cool guy doesn't have to look that desperate, like everything around him will make him sick, right? And who keep hands inside his pockets all the time?
Also, all the love rivals for Erduo and Lizi are uglier. Their make up turn them look older. On that point only, I can't see how they stand a chance of attracting the males. What a bad choice of casts.
However, I love how Erduo and Shuwei naturally realize their feeling without having a eureka moment. None says I like you, he just holds her in his arms and they both understand. Who says woman need a confession to be assured? She just needs to see how he treats other people and how he treats her. If he's saying love but being flirty to other girls, then he's not being honest.
Oh, and I love all the anime references used in this drama.
