Along with other six gods, Zhong Tian, The King of Blaze, has been protecting domain of Gods against rebellious Wing Tribe led by Tian Heng. However, Zhong Tian accidentally hurt the young God of Winds, Qian Mei causing her to be blind. Filled with guilt, he dedicates his life protecting her.
The battle kills some protecting gods and brings domain of God to the brink of destruction. Shang Xuan, the leader of Gods asks Zhong Tian to bring new energy from other domain to save their world. Thus, Zhong Tian falls to earth.
To his surprise, he meets Situ Fengjiang who bears a similar appearance to Qian Mei. She's an officer in Astrological Burau. Situ Fengjian travels to accompany The Crown Prince visiting magical mirror. However, the mirror is stolen right in the middle of praying ceremony. Zhong Tian helps Situ Fengjiang investigating the crime.
It's a serious drama trying to mingle and complicate the simple idea: a man trying to find new source energy to revive his hometown. It's amazing how they pack the story into 28 episodes (although it's not the finale, they have the second season running now).
I know the two main casts. I've seen Chen Bo Lin in various international roles, even in Japanese show. Jing Tian also receives high attention since The Great Wall. For me she's pretty with tough shade, perfect for swordswoman role.
Putting two high profile actors as the main cast put difficulties for the other cast members to keep up with them. I notice some poor editing as well. Ah. Could it be the reason I fell so far behind (I'm still at 11th episode and the show is already completed airing)?
