Inuyashiki Taro is a middle age salesperson who’s not doing well at work. Even at home, he’s disrespected by his wife and his 2 teenage children. One day, Inuyashiki is diagnosed with last stage cancer and only had 3 months left to live. He doesn’t know how to deliver this to his family, he doubts they’ll believe him. He can only talk to a stray dog named Hanako. When Inuyashiki and Hanako walk in the park, he suddenly exposed to a very bright light. To his surprise, his body is turned into some robotic mechanism and he's now able to cure people with his power.
He was not the only one radiated by the mysterious light. A high schooler named Shishigami Hiro was also in the park and he uses his power to gain a fortune. Raised by a single mother, Shishigami always hates his father who now lives happily with his new family. He begins killing people to release his anger. The more he despises, the more people turned against him. But, the power really gives him an upper hand. It seems only Inuyashiki can stop him now.
The trailer is very misleading. It shows so many actions, while in reality 80% of the movie made of daily conversations building the character of Inuyashiki and Shishigami. Inuyashiki is portrayed as lame and boring old man who doesn't do well at work and at home. I think it's a common description of fathers everywhere. They work hard for the family members who don't even pay attention.
I think Shishigami Hiro is also bored. He is a helpless boy who just wants to make his mother smile. A power on hand of "sick" kid is really dangerous. He feels like God right away and breaks rules to gain his ideal happiness. The problem with a youngster is that his mind doesn't run as fast as the growth of his body. He doesn't think about the consequences of his actions. Since he's invincible, he thinks he can do whatever he wants. Well, isn't that what happens to some of the teenagers? Just because their parents are comfortable, they turned bossy and arrogant.
I'd like to give a spotlight to the interaction between Shishigami Hiro and netizens. Social media is a very messy place where irresponsible people can throw their ill-manners as they wish. They think they'll be saved behind the screen after writing horrible things. Remember, those who read the words are also human, they also have feelings. What we write on the net can affect other people, just like spoken words.
If only everyone has power like Shishigami Hiro, who can shoot ugly netizen from the screen, it might cut half of the population people interacting on the internet. If only....
