He takes care of her every finance problem, even reclaim her childhood house for her. However, he's not the Ming Lu she likes. Is money really everything?

Money can change the way people perceived. The not-so-good-looking rich people can be so attractive in the eye of materialistic people. For me, this is actually a crack in our society. Being rich doesn’t glorify your soul. It helps your appearance, but it doesn’t change your value. I mean, everyone should be treated the same. Let’s face it, we’re living in a materialistic world where people are treated by the way they dress. The old people in the neighborhood are amazed by those with cars settling in their carpools or by the number of televisions people put in their bedrooms. As result, they keep worrying that their luxury items could be stolen when they’re away from home. The more you have, the less you find peace. Especially when you have more than you need.

I’m sick by the way people treated other who looks penniless, either they wear rusty clothes or walking (instead of driving car). Parents chase money to the point they can’t go home before the children fall asleep. They are eager to get their kids into elite school just to maintain status among neighbors. They forget to teach the value of family warmth, feeling connected, and being nice to other people. In a materialistic world, it doesn’t matter how hard you try, you’re a loser if you don’t get a result.
