It's been 2 years and the interns are fully obstetricians now. Shimoya sensei gains the confidence to treat patients without having Kounotori's supervisory. Similarly, Shirakawa sensei feels good about his ability after getting attention at NICU conference. They think they can handle everything on their own now.
However, things could go wrong and every doctor is prone to experience failure. After facing their first setback, Shimoya and Shirakawa find light through their seniors' advice.
I'm so amazed by Japanese medical series. It can prolong for seasons, yet nothing important really changed. This Kounodori, for example, is just continuation of the previous season. It plays with the similar pattern where Kounodori et al. help distress pregnant woman to overcome their fear.
I'm actually very happy to see those casts again, yet the story gets boring. They do continue inviting good guests, but I only interested in seeing Shida in the first episode. She gave the best performance as a deaf mother. *sobbing*
PS: seems like Shun will not make an appearance in this season. XD
