Legend of Naga Pearls

| Release: 2017.08.11
| Cast: Darren Wang | Crystal Zhang | Sheng Guansen | Simon Yam

The fall of Wing Tribe leads to human's domination both on earth and sky. As result, winged tribe gradually lost their ability to fly. However, they still dream of reviving their status. Xue Lie, a royal descendant from the Winged Tribe, begins a search for the magical Naga Pearls in order to destroy the Human Tribe and avenge the death of his people.

Unfortunately, the thief Ni Kongkong got the pearl stored in a magic box first. He, then, hunted by Xue Lie's followers. Along with constable Hei Yu (who's actually a wing tribe girl), and Ga Li (the human prince), Ni Kongkong try to open the box. They realize the enormous power of the pearl and work together to stop Xue Lie using it.

The movie reveals backstory about each character: orphan Ni Kongkong never had anyone to trust; winged girl Hei Yu is in a dilemma because her father passed away trying to stop the conflict between two races; prince Ga Li is looking for an opportunity to prove himself. Although each of them has different agenda, their teamwork gives new feeling: friendship. It's a rare combination of a bandit, foreign girl, and royal hanging out together, right?
This adventure story gives me a vibe of Detective Dee, especially when they had to go to black market for information. The makeup is pretty good. I can't recognize Simon Yam playing Xie Li!Overall, there's nothing new and it has so many special effects (not that I'm complaining). In other word, if you like Detective dee, you’ll find this amusing.
Darren Wang successfully stuck himself in bad boy character. It fits him. He doesn't have pretty boy aura, but he's more like an attractive beast.
Crystal Zhang is so pretty. I've never watched her work before but she's my kind of actress: the one who can pull action but still look so divine. She's truly a domineering beauty.
