After being attacked by the alien (Amanto), the earth turns into a battlefield. In the end, Amanto is accepted by Shogunate and begins living by repressing human. As the result, people are forbidden to take swords and swordsmen are taken as a threat of government.

Gintoki Sakata is a samurai who takes any request. He's not afraid to walk with bokuto (wooden sword) and refuses to be bullied by the amanto. One day, he's asked to find powerful sword named Benizakura by its swordsmith, Murata Tetsuya. He claims that the weapon not only makes the killer more powerful, it even take over the human's ability. Being stabbed by Benizakura means copying the victim's ability to the sword. It has been stolen by Okada Nizo to kill people.

To make things complicated, Okada Nizo is part of Takasugi Shinsuke's group. Takasugi was Gintoki and Katsura's friend who learned bushido from the same teacher. It's hard to imagine that he's become a rebellion and makes a connection with the Amanto.

This is a review from a person who has never seen the anime or read the manga. It must not easy to compress the long series into 130 minutes movie. Thus, I find some scenes hard to chew.
However, I can't stop laughing at 2/3 parts of beginning. The anime references are amazing! How can they fit so many into this movie???? Two thumbs up.

I can hear girls gasp when Sekime appears. His smooth skin and smooth hair make me scream, too. Damn, why is he so pretty? Even though I can't accept him being so mature and cool (while he usually cute and the object of bullying), he amazes me. Sudacchi also makes my heart bleed. Too cute! Remember when him being Philip in Kamen Rider W? He's cuter as Shimura Shinpachi here.

Yuya Yagira is in his best cool role. Has he ever done a role like this before? Nah. Even when he smokes, he radiants. But, my meteor Oryo doesn't fall behind. Except when he disguises himself as kabutomushi, he appears as a handsome dandy young man.

To my surprise, I really like Nakagawa Masami here. She's so cute and soft while doing violent acts.  *Immediately shipping Tae with Gintoki!!!* It would be cute to have more Tae-Gintoki scenes. But, what can I say. There are so many to tell, yet they can only play for 130 minutes.

Shun is being his usual self. Kakkoi and funny. This Gintoki role kinda reminds me his Lupin III, with messier hair. XD. Well, he doesn't need to do anything, just being Shun is enough.

I'm officially very satisfied with the casts. It was worth running from office to watch the premiere. Haha.
