Chu Qiao has been trained to be spy by her mother, Lu He. But, the mother disappeared and she ends up being adopted to Jing family. The Jings are slaves for Yuwen Household, the prominent family in charge of Great Ling's intelligence. There are 2 branches left in this family. The first branch is led by Yuwen Zhuo, who trains his grandson Yuwen Yue to be the heir. Yuwen Zhuo's brother is the head of the third branch. He's a pervert old guy who cruel to everyone, incluing his own grandson, Yuwen Huai. Although they are related, the power struggle inside family is unavoidable. Yuwen Huai always hate his cousin who's intelligent, cool, and high status compared to him who's just born from a maid.

Yuwen Yue is incharge of The Eye of God, an intelligence system to protect Northern Wei Kingdom. He sees potency in Chu Qiao and trains her to be Eye of God's spy. He gives her new name, "Xing er". Despite of being low maid, Xing er is quite impudent and outspoken. She learns fast and Yuwen Yue finds it unbearable to see her suffer. He never admits it, but he's fallen for her. At the same time, Yuwen Yue's bestfriend, Prince Yan Xun also attracted to the wild kitten. Unlike cold Yuwen Yue, Yan Xun treats Xing er with warm and trust.

One day, the emperor can't hold his fear to be killed by his growing stronger friend, the king of Northern Yan. He accuses him to rebel and kills the whole Yan's family, except Yan Xun. This incident changes the happy-go-lucky Yan Xun and turns him to be vengeance monster. 

I'm watching this slowly (only reach episode 17 while they've been releasing 34 episodes so far). Personally, I don't like the story. I don't like any story involving poison, bullying, and torchering. Plus, everyone seems to fall in love with Xing Er. Nah. It fails to keep me curious. That explains the slow watching.

However, I have to admit that everybody is beautiful here. The 4 Jings sisters are so pretty. It's an awkward chance to have every member look awesome. The young masters are not bad either. Of course, I have sweet spot on Lin Gengxin. I have to admit that I haven't seen many of his works, only Young Detective Dee, Black and White 2 and The Great Wall. The other works are just not fantastic enough, although I find him very attractive. He's playing a cool man in this drama, but I can't help laughing. I've seen him in Happy camp and Let go My Baby. He's a joker. He can't keep calm. lol.
