Jimi ni Sugoi! Koetsu Garu Kono Etsuko

Kono Etsuko has been dreaming of being an editor of the fashion magazine, Lassy. But, even after several interviews, she's not accepted. This year she also participates in mid-year recruitment test. However, the publishing company is not looking for an editor. Instead, Kono is offered to join the proofreading department.

Assuming the gloomy work life, Kono Etsuko is not delight about the offer. But, the chief convinces her to join, considering her nickname Ko(no) Etsu(ko) is the Japanese words for proofreading. He also says she might be able to transfer to Lassy one day.

 

 

Koetsu takes his words seriously and accepts the job. However, the proofreading work is much more complex than she imagines. She soon absorbs into correcting words. She even goes far to check the fact written in the book. She often puts her inquiry in the draft to be revised and writers are grateful for her inputs. Even though she denies it, it seems she's born for proofreading.

I love this dorama. Not only because I enjoy watching Satomi and Shunin (Aoki Munetaka), but I also feel the story very much relatable to my reality. I'm not a proofreader, though. But, I'm working in writing environment and can't escape the proofreading work. Even though you've checked the whole pages, when you miss one word it seems all your hard work gone in an instant. One simple mistake ruins everything.

Sometimes the job fit for you is not the one you always dream of. You just do it because you can, not because you want it.

What I can't accept is how they describe Sudacchi to be super good looking. Ehhh..seriously? I mean, he's handsome, but not that handsome, right? haha
