Gouda Takeo is just on his first year of high school, but he looks like an old man due to his big physical feature. He's good at sports, but girls are afraid of him, even calling him "gorilla" behinds his back. Despite his fearsome look, Takeo is actually a sweet gentleman.
One day he saves a girl from a pervert. The girl, Yamato Rinko, falls in love with him instantly. Not used to have girls caring for him, Takeo mistook Rinko to have a crush on his handsome best friend, Suna. Takeo tries hard to create a scene for Suna and Rinko.
The movie is based on a manga by the same title. The anime adaptation was aired last year and received positive reviews. Some details are skipped and packed to fit into 105 minutes movie, but it still follows the main plot.
Nagano Mei did a good job being such a cute character. I'm normally not into a cute heroine, but seriously she's just unbearably sweet. It's like Rinko coming out from the manga, but with a better voice. She's the character you can't hate.
I think Sakaguchi Kentaro looks like Suna, but doesn't sound much like him. There's something about the way Suna talks that differs him from any cool character. He's cold, but not tsundere. He must've been quiet but actually knows things. He's silent, but he cares. These qualities are not easy to bring up. In this case, Sakaken really needs to work harder on his next movie. He's been everywhere lately, but we must admit he's not a versatile actor. yet.
I hope he will, kinda like his face. XD
