The story revolves around a bunch of yakuza top generals who are assigned by their boss to work on elder care facility. This is a kind of test he design to select his next successor.

Among those gangster, there's a man named Hikoichi Tsubasa who made a living by swindling old people. He's rude and uncooperative. His harsh treatment against the old people are basically the reflection of his bitter memory with his mother. She left him 28 years ago.
It's not easy for him to serve the elders for first few weeks, but he slowly open his heart.

There are so many characters, each has slight of story, though they manage to keep the spotlight for Hikoichi. It's a nice story about forgiving. I think it's easy to blame someone when you're not so happy with your life choices. It makes you feel slightly better. But, isn't that what keeps us away from improvement? How can you take further step if you glue your feet on the past?
