Kamikura Ichigo has been stationed in local police box for 3 years. One day, a group of young men occupied a building, took a woman as a hostage, and started shooting at the cops around. Ichigo comes forward to shield a wounding cop before SAT took control of the incident. His brave action interest Commander Kashii who's currently building a new special team other than SAT and SIT.
Ichigo, then, is invited to the team, NPS (National Police Safety rescued). However, judging from the two established teams who use an aggressive attack to kill the villains, Ichigo refuses to join the team. He doesn't want to kill anyone. Back then, when he was little, he saw a man killed his friend's parents in front of them. The killer was then shot, but the trauma remains in Ichigo's heart. He believes that villain must be left alive so that victim's family has a target to vent their anger.
Commander Kashii convinces Ichigo that NPS is different that SAT or SIT. Its aim is not to kill the bad guys, but to capture them alive. Thus, Ichigo joins the team as the first attacker.
While having opposite idea with SAT, NPS find themselves unable to cooperate smoothly together. A SAT member, Soga Iori, really hates Ichigo's happy-go-lucky attitude. However, their ultimate goal are the same: keeping the country safe, so can't they work together?
SAT members seem to like being brainwashed. hehehe. They look so stiff like the life has been taken from them and that they're just machines. And I think Ayano Go suits his role. XD
