Oh My Boss! Koi wa Bessatsu De

Suzuki Nami aims to lead an ordinary life. She applies to equipment management work in a publishing house in Tokyo hoping to have a normal 9 to 5 work hours. But, instead of getting the "slow" work, she's offered as a new assistant to Horai Reiko. She's the new fashion magazine's chief editor.

Nami thought it was an administrative job, but she ends up running errands for high achiever Reiko. It's also hard for her to manage the job smoothly because she's totally new to the fashion world. Her half-assed work ethic is really annoying, not only to the boss but also to the other team members. They're seriously trying to learn a lot from Reiko, so that they can lead successful career in the future.

Reiko is cold and always giving orders without trying to teach Nami anything. But, she's really serious about her job and very good at it. Seeing how people earnestly do their work, somehow....

So, it's basically Japanese Devil Wear Prada, with bunch of ikemen bonus. Tamamori Yuta plays young master who chooses to work as cameraman instead of inheriting family business. Mamiya Shotaro is Nami's colleague who helps her understand fashion basic. Inukai Atsuhiro is Nami's childhood friend whom she'd unrequited love for. Those three alone is enough motivation for me to watch.

But, Nanao is the main attraction for me. Nanao has an aggressive look (haha very much different than her first dorama Omo ni Naitemasu where she plays a pitiful beautiful girl). I guess people her age eventually will get the role of an independent successful woman. It's kinda unwritten rules: actress in their twenties get the naive cute innocent role, while those older portray strong (most likely what men thought to be scary ) women. Yet, this role really fits Nanao. She's hot, cold, and looks good in high fashion.

At one point, Suzuki Nami's personality is the type that annoys the team. The lazy, permissive, lame who aim to have an easy life. She even dreams of becoming a housewife as part of her ordinary life (Tell you what, a housewife is the hardest job in the world. It's not easy just because you don't have to go through professional appraisal, it's the mentally burned job). If she doesn't like the work, she should step out since day 1. But, she lets it flow and people start counting on her.

Dreaming of ordinary life is fine. Don't let this drama fool you that going to work is the only happiness. People have the right to choose what they like, as long as you're not hurting others. Take you as a priority. Taking a job you don't like then whining about it is the worst work ethic. If you don't like it, leave it. That's how you secure happiness.
