Tsugano Makoto is an intern who wishes to join Professor Tsukuba's internal medicine department. But, the Professor suggests her to take autopsy training under Professor Mitsuzaki in Urawa Med School. Professor Mitsuzaki of forensic medicine has been assisting Saitama Prefectural Police in many cases. However, there are only 11% out of every dead body found received an autopsy. Most likely because the police have a limited budget. But, sometimes, the autopsy is the only way to confirm the real death cause.
Professor Mitsuzaki is an odd man. He's not good with human relation because they lie. It's not easy to understand the meaning of his action, but he's surely a brilliant doctor. Sometimes in revealing the truth, you have to bump into a lot of rejections and rules. It's not easy for the naive girl like Makoto. She always wants to play by the rules and respects patients wish.
Will deal with autopsy cases, make Makoto learns to take priority and comes with better judgment?
This Keiko's character is an opposite of her Sangeya Machi. Makoto is, like any other newbies, are afraid to offend other. She will try her best to please people she admires. She could've rejected the offer to train at Urawa Med School, but she goes anyway. Her half-assed spirit (and experience) turn her into a whining student. Well, can't blame her.
Onoe Mitsuya's Detective Kotegawa is the kind of hero in police story. He can copy police report secretly and passes it to Professor Mitsuzaki so that he can have a better vision about the case. He's the kind who have guts to go across the border just to solve the case. Cool.
Professor Mitsuzaki is a cold man. Well, you can't expect much from someone who just deals with the corpse, right? I suspect traumatic experience with close ones. haha. Perhaps.
But, I found him having an objective view about life. That's the quality of a scientist must posses.
