Playboy tycoon, Liu Xuan, just bought an island where some mermaids had been living for generations. Intended to make money from that place, he starts reclamation and put sonar in the sea to hush marine lives. The practice produces a negative effect on the mermaids. Some are dead, other suffers painful disease. Thus, they plan to kill the businessman to stop radiation.
Shan shan, the most beautiful mermaid is sent to seduce and kill him. But, Shan shan soon realizes that Liu Xuan is just a lonely man. On the other hand, Liu Xuan starts falling for Shan Shan's weird style (weird clothes, weird walk, and weirdly speaking. yeah, he has weird taste). Unlike any other woman, Shan Shan doesn't seem to be interested in the guy's money.
This situation is really problematic. Shan shan soon feels guilty for unable to kill the evil guy, but how can she stab the man she loves?
"Human beings can be evil, but there are good ones too"
Aside from the black comedy, which lots of us have been believed as the style of Chinese comedy (if not Steven Chow's), the idea is really touching. This is the kind of movie WWF (World Wildlife) should endorse in their campaign.
Well, money is not the most important thing in this world. What's the point of having money if you can't breathe fresh air and drink clean water? People who want money should limit their inquiry to keep the world well enough to live in.
