Kudo Sayaka hates adults: her father for focusing on her brother only, also her homeroom teacher who keeps calling her "trash". But, when he meets cram school teacher, Tsubota, her opinion changes. Tsubota sensei easily grabs her heart and motivates her to study. He suggests her to set a goal, so she randomly picks Keio University. She was just joking because she realizes it's out of reach. However, Tsubota sensei doesn't even laugh. Thus, he starts training her to study from the basic (because she's unbelievably dumb).

This movie is good! Arimura Kasumi should do more roles like this: stupid, not forcing her "cuteness" or looking grumpy. I finally found a role she's good at. Shuhei is also attractive, with his golden hair and rebellious acts. Yup, totally stole my heart. Imagine if he really became lawyer with that look. ooooh.

And the best part is that no romance involved. Kasumi and Shuhei are partner in crime (I was gonna say fighting partner, whatever sound good to you). We all need that one person who keeps moving forward, so her spirit spreads on us. We need that person who keeps walking on so we can tell ourselves, "if she can do it, I can too".

The story itself is relatable to most people. And I say it's pretty convincing. You can't turn E to B in one night. It's a long journey. But, studying is like going to gym. It hurts and weary, but if you do it right you'll like the result.
