Kagi Dorobo no Method

| Released: 2013
| Cast: Sakai Masato | Kagawa Teruyuki | Hirosue Ryoko

That night, , a man falls upon soap in the bathhouse. His locker key slides away and Sakurai picks it. He, then, leaves his own key next to the poor guy. That man is rich. He has a thick pocket. He lives in a big mansion with all black tidy furniture. Sakurai uses the money to pay all his debt that almost led him to suicide.

But, what happen to slipping guy? He’s brought to hospital and wakes up with temporary amnesia. Doctor identifies him as Sakurai, an unsuccessful actor who’s just left by his girl friend.

Confused and insecure, “Sakurai” meets a chief editor named Mizushima Sanae in front of the hospital. Sanae helps him sorting out his life. As they spend times together, Sanae thinks he might be the right person to marry.

At the same time, real Sakurai learns the identity of the rich man. He’s a handy man, notoriously called Kondo. He’s hired by gangster to clean up other gangster. Whuah, it seems Sakurai is still the bad luck guy!

It’s slow story with great lines. Well, it’s a drama after all. But, it’s the kind of drama that won’t let you fall asleep. Moreover, the casts are amazing. I just saw Kagawa san & Sakai san in Hanzawa Naoki and they look different from these characters. Hirosue san is also great. I wrote somewhere that I begun to like her after Goemon. She’s getting prettier and smarter. She doesn’t smile at all in this movie. I like the way she deliver her character as formal and mature woman.
When I finished watching it last night, I realize it’s all about love, a mature love. Sakurai broke down because he loves the girl who left him for marrying someone else. Kondo makes his living this way because his ex-wife left him for being poor. Sanae is like a rookie in love life. It’s interesting how she treats marriage just like another project of her magazine.
