Despite holding a bachelor degree, Moriyama Mikuri can hardly get a permanent job. When her father suggests her to take a maid job for his colleague, Mikuri sees that as a good opportunity until she finds a better job.
When her parents decide to move to the countryside, Mikuri thinks she needs to follow them. But, after talking to his employer, a 35-year-old IT worker named Tsuzaki Hiramasa, Mikuri comes with an idea of contract marriage. She and Hiramasa will get married to ensure Mikuri can stay in his house. That way she can continue her job as a housekeeper.

The arrangement seems perfect. Mikuri can earn money by doing things most housewives do freely. And it's not weird that the two start growing feeling toward each other.

This drama reminds us how many housewives (and mothers) work at home without getting enough appreciation. They work all day keeping the house clean and warm just to make the husband feels welcomed. On the other side, most husbands think it's their duties because they're not going out to earn money.

What happens to Mikuri's best friend, Yassan, might be the one of common portrays of Japanese' housewife. She gets married early and decides to manage the house, while the husband finds another woman. That's just sad.
